North Pond Restaurant Review:
Situated within the expansive greens of the beautiful Lincoln Park, North Pond restaurant provides one of the most enviable settings as it offers a magnificent view of the city’s dramatic skyline. The restaurant is housed in an edifice that was built in 1912 as a shelter for ice skaters and has been now redesigned as per the Arts and Crafts tradition.  The celebrated Chef Bruce Sherman incorporates the artistic tradition with his culinary expertise to create a range of mouthwatering and creative cuisines. He also draws his inspiration by purchasing fresh and extraordinary ingredients from the farmers at the local market. The combination of simple yet delicious recipes combined with a fusion of freshest produce creates an exemplary menu of delectable delicacies. Interesting and varied is what one would think of the menu at North Pound restaurant where first course dishes include unique combinations of seasonal produce. Sea scallops with raisins, walnuts, spinach Parmesan tortello and apple kabocha squash sauce make a great first course option. Other first course delicacies include Egg and smoked caviar accompanied with potato puree, spinach coulis, croutons and caviar. Another preparation is Foie Gras seared and served with artichokes, huckleberries, gingersnaps and Cipollini onions.

Those who enjoy experimenting different food can choose octopus and mussels salad at North Pond Restaurant. Green lovers can opt for pears and lettuce salad or beets and citrus salad. The main course is equally sumptuous featuring a range of exotic delicacies. At North Pond Restaurant, beefsteak with Parmesan cheese accompanied by broccoli, carmelized shallot and piccolo farro in red wine syrup is quite a feast. While those who prefers pork over beef can choose the preparation of Berkshire loin, braised belly and Andouille sausage in peppers, caramelized figs and cranberry black bean ragoût.

Also, at North Pond Restaurant , Seafood lovers can look forward to enjoying black bass in apple cider broth or red snapper fillet with bacon filled sweet potatoes, apples, beets and sprouts. Each course can be accompanied by a fine glass of wine from the North Pond restaurant’s extensive wine menu list. However, the dining experience at North Pond is never complete without sampling one of its tempting desserts such as the scrumptious apple caramel tartelette or chocolate ganache slice with huckleberry sorbet or a delicious ice-cream with almond biscotti and chocolate pudding. Besides the dinner menu, the restaurant is also known for its special Sunday brunch and seasonal tastings.
