Chicago city has plenty of things to do for everyone. Without putting so much efforts, you can easily find activities or things to do in Chicago that fits your mood for the day. I have come up with the following list of things to do in Chicago on this 4th of July.
Navy Pier Fireworks – This year Navy Pier fireworks show has been moved to July 4th. All these years, it was happening on July 3rd at Navy Pier. Considering the celebration and freedom festival on the same day, place is expected to be very crowded. If you are planning to go for fireworks then make sure to get there early.
African/Caribbean International Festival of Life – Time to enjoy music, food, arts, crafts and several family friendly events at Union Park located in West Loop. You can have the best time enjoying the best of Caribbean, Reggae, African Rock, Pop, Latin and other several world music.
Windy City RibFest in Uptown – Enjoy the top local and national ribbers at Windy City RibFest in uptown between July 1st through July 3rd. This festival has become popular over last eight years and getting more popular each year. I would say it has made it to the list of must visit Chicago’s summer fest! There are plenty of other family friendly activities are happening for kids including arts and crafts.
Dinner Cruise from Navy Pier – Enjoy the excellent views of Navy Pier fireworks from Michigan lake. Yup, take advantage of of one of the dinner cruises from Navy Pier and enjoy spectacular views of July 4th fireworks. Considering clear weather conditions, you will be surprised to see spectacular views of city skyline. You can sail on one of the dinner cruise lines – Spirit of Chicago, Odyssey and Mystic Blue.
Mamby on the Beach – Enjoy the musical festival at Oakwood Beach! Lakefront musical festival at Oakwood Beach is one of the best things to do in Chicago on the Fourth of July weekend. Unique way to enjoy music and dance on the sand by water. Mamby on the Beach festival is adult festival. You will need to show your government issued photo ID to get admission.
